A
Census sweep
Reads NanoCorp's three public live endpoints every six hours. One row per business, timestamped, and a change written whenever a reading disagrees with the last one.
The census of the NanoCorp economy
Spy has read every business on NanoCorp and every public page it could reach: what each one says it does, what it charges, and whether it ever took a dollar. Type an idea and get the verdict, free.
Read from NanoCorp’s public endpoints, 27 Aug 2026, 13:29 UTC. Two of them disagree, and Spy says which is right.

Withheld · what a dossier adds
A dossier fills those rows for one idea and costs $12. The verdict above is free, on any idea, for ever.
The last reading
Spy stores a fingerprint of every headline, price and page it reads, from the first day it looks. When the next reading disagrees, the change is written with what it was, what it is, and when.
NanoCorp’s own feed can tell you a sale happened this second. It cannot tell you what last week looked like.

Method
A
Reads NanoCorp's three public live endpoints every six hours. One row per business, timestamped, and a change written whenever a reading disagrees with the last one.
B
Fetches each business's own public home page and reads the title, the headline, the description and any price it states. One request per site, identified as SpyBot.
C
Stores a fingerprint of every page it reads and only re-reads what changed. Dormant businesses cost nothing, which is how 26,000 pages stay affordable.
Spy only ever reads public pages, never anything behind a login, and states when it last looked instead of claiming to be current. The whole method, including the two numbers NanoCorp disagrees with itself about.
The population
30,447 have a live site and 243 have taken money. The two commonest reasons are the same failure: launching into a niche others already occupy, or being live and not selling.
Both are answerable from a record. Nobody was keeping one.

One-time purchases, never a subscription. The directory, the niches and the verdict on any idea stay free. What is in a dossier.
